General Secretary's Division

The General Secretary’s Division is organized for enthusiastic service by a team which is led by the Secretary General. The team comprises an Executive Secretary, three section chiefs, a secretary, two specialists, four senior clerks and one clerk, who assist in secretarial affairs for the president and vice presidents, promoting and coordinating matters among various units. There are four sections in this Division: Documents Section, Journalism Section, Public Relations Section, and Alumni Relations Center.

The president’s secretary is in charge of arranging the president’s domestic and overseas schedule; receiving visitors to the President’s Office and arranging meetings; reviewing, writing and replying to Chinese and English correspondence for the president; dealing with courtesy affairs of weddings and funerals; assisting in university-wide activities and handling various other matters for the president

Documents Section

Documents Section is in charge of handling the affairs related to the important university-wide meetings and official documents. This section convenes official University Affairs Committee meetings twice each semester, and provisional University Affairs meetings as required, to pass resolutions on important university-wide affairs. It also bears responsibility for affairs related to the elections of University Affairs Committee representatives and preparation of the annual report. The Documents Section convenes four Administrative Council meetings and one Expanded Administrative Council meeting each month to discuss the promotion of university administration affairs.

Alumni Relations Center

The duty of Alumni Relations Center is to promote the connection with alumni and provide services to them. MCU has more than 150,000 alumni since its establishment in 1957. The MCU Alumni Service Website is established to enhance the connection among the alumni, which including the hot news of the institution, alumni news, application for services and employment information. Through this website, alumni are able to query and update their personal information. The alumni e-mail system is also established for the alumni to subscribe to MCU e-News and activity information. Furthermore, the Alumni Relations Section assists with and promotes the affairs of domestic and overseas alumni association establishment and fundraising.

Public Relations Section

The Public Relations Section is not only the unit to connect the institution with the media, but also the hub for delivery of on- and off-campus announcements. This unit is in charge of handling public affairs, updating news reporters’ database, holding press conferences, keeping good relationship with media outlets, maintaining the hot news on MCU Homepage, writing news releases related to major events, seminars, lectures and other university activities.
