Born in the late Qing Dynasty, Dr. Pao experienced turbulent times and made significant contributions to the country and society. In her fifth decade, she reinvested her life in her most beloved field of education to establish the first women's higher education institution in Taiwan, and was the first female President in Taiwan higher education. Throughout her life, she insisted on conducting education with the ethos of "attending to all students with parental care, support, and guidance". She emphasized teaching both theory and practice, as well as professionalism and morals.

Affected by COVID-19, the Department Required Tests were postponed to July 28-30; thus the Examination Announcement is postponed to the end of August. MCU has officially adjusted that classes will formally begin on September 22, 2021, with the classes from September 13 to 20 to be made up during the semester by course instructors. Accordingly, the Academic Affairs Division and Students Affairs Division have updated the key activities for the 1st semester of 2021-22 Academic Year.
1. Taipei City and New Taipei City have been elevated to the 3rd Level Epidemic Alert by the Central Epidemic Command Center from May 15, 2021 to May 28, 2021. Staff members from each teaching and administrative unit are divided into two groups, alternating remote working from home beginning May 17, 2021. First level and second level administrators are still to report to campus for work.
As Taipei City and New Taipei City have been elevated to the 3rd Level Epidemic Alert by the Central Epidemic Command Center from now through May 28, 2021, MCU is enhancing all prevention measures as described in the following regulations:
In response to the recent increase of COVID-19 confirmed cases, in order to protect the health and safety of faculty, staff and students, from May 17th to 23rd, all courses will be changed to remote teaching, and continuous revisions will be made in response to changes in the epidemic situation.
1. All courses will adopt remote teaching mode; the digital teaching aids needed are to be planned and prepared by the course instructors themselves.

In response to escalating COVID-19 concerns worldwide during fall and winter, and in line with the “Special Program to Contain COVID-19 Epidemic in Fall and Winter” launched by Central Epidemic Command Center on December 1, 2020, Ming Chuan is actively promoting students to wear facial masks when entering campus or in class and keep the windows of classrooms open to maintain a flow of fresh air indoors. All participants in meetings and large-scale activities, as well as off- campus visitors, must have their temperature taken and record their name.
