Q1:What are the categories of MCU Literary and Arts Awards? 
A1:The 24th MCU Literary and Arts Awards is going to be held in 2012-13. There are four categories with nine sections, including novels / novel section, prose / Chinese, English and Topical prose sections; poetry (modern Chinese, classical Chinese, and English sections); photographs (campus culture and creative sections). There are special topics for Topical prose, Classical Poetry and Campus Culture Photography sections every year. For the other sections, there is no limitation. 
 
 
Q2:When does the MCU Literary and Arts Awards start to solicit articles? 
A2:The schedule for MCU Literary and Arts Awards is different each year; faculty members and students watch for MC Weekly, MCU website and bulletins on campus. The 2012-13 MCU Literary and Arts Awards will solicit submissions from October, with the deadline at the end of December. The ceremony of the MCU Literary and Arts Awards will be held in 2013. 
 
 
Q3:How to participate in MCU Literary and Arts Awards?
A3:Faculty members and students may check the details on MCU Literary and Arts Awards website at http://www.art.mcu.edu.tw.
 
 
Q4:What are the procedures for MCU Literary and Arts Awards judging? 
A4:The literary works submitted to MCU Literary and Arts Awards will be judged anonymously by experts; all the works will be compiled as a booklet for two to three experts to evaluate. To maintain fairness, none of the judges will know the authors of the works during the judging process. 

All submitted photos will be judged publicly by the experts on the same day. All faculty members and students are welcome to observe the judging process, which may serve as a model for faculty members and students to emulate.

 
Q5:Are there any prizes for MCU Literary and Arts Awards?
A5:The total of the prizes for MCU Literary and Arts Awards is 180,000 NTD. The first prize of Novel Section is 15,000 NTD, which is the highest such prize among universities in Taiwan. The budget of prizes for MCU Literary and Arts Awards is arranged from student fees, and prizes will have tax levied as labor income in accordance with the Tax Act of the Republic of China.
